Step Ups: Transverse to Balance

Primary Muscles Trained:  Thighs
Secondary Muscles Trained:  Gluteus Maximus
Instructions: 
1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart directly behind, but parallel too, a platform such as an aerobics step.
2. Step one foot up onto the box, rotating your foot so that you are now facing forward.
3. While balancing on that foot raise the other foot off the ground until your knee is bent in a 90 degree angle.
4. Lower your raised knee back to the ground and step down with your other foot so you are back in the starting position.
