How have people here dealt with stress eating?
Hello all!

New to FitClick. I am starting my second year of veterinary school and the program is very VERY demanding. I often feel like I don't have time to exercise because I feel like every minute outside of class should be spent studying.

A friend and I have started a martial arts class, but we feel like with our program we can only go once a week. I'm trying to make time to practice what we learn on my own to get more work-out time in.

I was much more active in undergrad, I went to a smaller school, but I still had to walk to all of the buildings to get to my classes. The vet program here has us in the same building all day. Most of the time I don't even have to leave the room I'm in to go to my next class. I was also going to martial arts twice a week. The club I was in in undergrad and the program now both include cardio and muscle strengthening. But I'm defintiely not as active as I used to be.

Also, when I'm stressed out, I go to food. I gained a lot of weight last year because of the combination of stress eating and the lack of activity. I'm hoping the martial arts will be an outlet for some of that stress. But I know with the nature of the program I'm in, I'm going to live in a perpetual state of stress. And I wasn't all that skinny to start with at the beginning of the year last year, but I felt healthy. I don't really feel healthy anymore. I'm always tired and run down, which just makes the lack of motivation to exercise worse.

I wondered if anyone had any tips for curbing stress eating. I'm trying to purchase healthier snacks for the long term study sessions, and get more exercise to blow some of it off.

I will admit I am a lil embarrassed to say that I am going for the goal for the umpteenth time. I was very active in my freshman year of high school trying to tone my body, and lose weight but I transfered schools and life dished out it's lemons and I gained the weight I had lost and extra pounds. I have been trying to lose weight in many different ways but since I am the only one in my family trying to lose weight the support and food choices are slim to none. Well now that I am a bit older(in college)I did some research on my body type and found many answers to my questions and I understand the better diet and type of workouts I need. I just hope I finally reach my goal and will be able to live the healthy life I always wanted. I know if I stick to it I will be fit and healthy! Welcome to shell shockers ! In this game you will become a soldier in the shape of an egg. Shoot ceaselessly, jump from one side to another, try to get through all obstacles and attack your opponents. How long do you think you can survive?
