Finger Curls

This warm-up movement is the most important for climbers, because it warms the many joints of the hands and helps increase circulation to the forearm muscles. Always perform Finger Curls before engaging in any forearm stretching.

 1. Stand with your arms relaxed by your sides.

 2. Close your hands to make a relaxed fist, and then quickly open your hand and fan out the fingers as if trying to flick water off your fingertips.

3. Continue for thirty to forty repetitions. Use a pace that allows about two repetitions per second.
