Soak black beans for 4 hours or so.

Cook beans, onions, mirapoix vegetables, water, oil, and spices in pressure cooker for 25 minutes.

When the beans are done, blend half the beans and liquid in a blender along with the bouillon and mashed potato flakes. Pour this puree back into the pot.

Stir in the canned tomatoes and allow them to get hot.

You should end up with a creamy soup with Ethiopian heat. Serve with bread or brown rice.
