Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease 8-inch square pan.

For cake: Cream Crisco and sugar in medium bowl with fork until blended and crumbly. Add eggwhites and vanilla. Beat until fairly smooth. Stir in oat bran and 1 cup applesauce. Let stand 5 minutes

Combine flour, 1 1/2 tespoons cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, salt and nutmeg in separate bowl. Stir into oat bran mixture. Spread half of batter in pan.

For filling and topping: Spread 3/4 cup applesauce over batter. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle half over applesauce. Add remaining batter, gently spreading evenly. Top with remaining 1/4 cup applesauce. Spread thinly and evenly. Sprinkle with remaining sugar and cinnamon mixture.

Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes or until top is golden brown and center springs back when touched lightly. Cut in squares. Serve warm.
