Cut stems off broccoli and wash thoroughly. Steam in a little water in a covered saucepan or microwave until tender crisp.

Chop parsley and garlic together and combine with olive oil and butter. Stir to get flavor of garlic. Warm this sauce for 2 minutes, but do not cook or burn.

Cook the ziti in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain the broccoli and ziti as soon as cooked, reserving some pasta water. Place ziti and broccoli back in pot and pour sauce mixture over both. Add some pasta water if necessary, and and sprinkle with cheese and pepper.
Serve immediately.
