Directions:  
Chop onions in half, throw away peels and tips. Then slice the halfs in thin strips. In a large stainless steel pot, spread the oil around the bottom and put the onions on top. On low heat, simmer the onions WITH A LID ON TOP AT ALL TIMES to keep the juices from evaporating!! You can basically ignore them for the first 2 hours, but then start checking and stirring once they start to brown. Keep in fridge.
