Whisk flour, baking powder, soda, salt and egg white powder together in a large bowl. Stir in walnuts and cranberries.

Whisk together the 1 cup sugar, orange juice and zest, apple sauce and oil in a bowl.

Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the wet ingredients to the dry. Mix until well blended. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 30 minutes. 4 Preheat oven to 350 deg. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Put the remaining 1/3 cup sugar into small flat bottomed dish. Roll dough with floured hands (mixture will be sticky) into 1 1/2 in ball. Roll in sugar and place on cookie sheet 2 inches apart.

Bake for 12-15 minutes until barely browned. Cool in pan for 1 minute. Remove to wire rack to cool. Dough will keep up to 3 days in refrigerator. Cookies stored in airtight container for up to 5 days. Freeze for longer storage.
