Directions:
1
Combine the lemon and 4 cups of water in a large bowl. Place the sliced apples in water to keep them from browning.
2
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Drain apples from water and place them in the hot skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes. Add brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook for an additional 2 minutes. Stir together cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water. Pour into skillet and mix well. Cook for another minute until sauce has thickened. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
3
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
4
Unfold pastry sheets and trim each sheet into a square. Then cut each larger square into 4 smaller squares. Spoon apples into the center of each square. Fold the pastry sheet corer to corner to form a triangle and press edges together to seal. Place turnovers on a baking sheet about an inch apart.
5
Bake for 25 minutes. Let cool before glazing.
6
For the glaze, mix together the confectioners sugar, milk and vanilla in a small bowl. Drizzle glaze over turnovers when they have cooled.
