Sort beans and rinse thoroughly.

Cover with water and soak overnight

Drain beans and add to slow cooker with oil, salt and bases.

Add 2 3/4 to 3 1/4 cups water.

Set slow cooker to high and cook 8 to 10 hours. Pot may be turned to low after about 4 hours, if desired.
