Caution: Workout May Cause Extreme Boredom

I recently decided to decrease my intensity & increase my time for the cardio workout (usually elliptical machine). I had been doing 20-30 minutes at a high level. For my last few workouts, I dropped the level a few notches and increased the time to 45 minutes. I was chatting with my boss about how I'd been using FitClick's online workout trainer. He suggested that I try to keep my heart rate up for a longer period of time to burn more fat. I'd like to get to 1 hour. But, I'm finding it almost more mentally challenging than physically challenging--extreme boredom sets in around 30 minutes. I tried switching from listening to music to watching TV. Sometimes, I'll even try to over-stimulate myself by listening to music while watching interactive TV like bad game shows (Wheel of Fortune). Get all the senses involved in attempt to trick myself out of boredom.
