Inspirational Quote: Running

"Realizing that our running goals, and indeed our running itself, are for us alone is a liberating thought. Then the cold dark mornings aren't about training for a distant goal. They're about the simple joy of getting out there and running. Suddenly, when the run itself is the goal, there are no more bad runs. Suddenly it doesn't matter if we don't finish within our goal time--or don't finish at all. What matters is that we tried, that we enjoyed the process. What matters is that we got out there."
--John "The Penguin" Bingham
Today's run was short and cold (13 degrees). The gravel adhered to the dirt because the ice made everything solid. The cold air burned my chest. But, like every run, it was finally a pleasure. I got out there and I'm pleased as punch.
