One year to get fit

Yesterday I set a goal to walk 5,000 steps and gradually increase to 10,000 steps per day to get fit and healthy. Hald way through the day, my watch reset and I have no idea how many steps I took but remember seeing I was in the 6,000 range before I took my dog on a walk. The walk added another 3,000 steps and I was encouraged as I wrote down the number in my walking log! So encouraged that I woke up early this morning (this never happens with me. I love to sleep in) took both dogs for a walk at 6am and have already gotten 7,976 steps in for today! It's not even 10am! I'm very excited but also know that I must be consistent to see results. I figure it's better to work hard now and stick to a plan because spring is right around the corner and living on the coast means my bathing suit is pretty much on every day!
