Hello Everybody!

My name is Lori a.k.a  PinkSas.  I'm new here starting today.  Just thought I would introduce myself and tell a little of my story, so here goes.

I am 38 years old and have been overweight my entire life and even morbidly obese since like around the 6th grade.  As I got older, eating always seemed to comfort the problems I grew up with (parents divorcing when I was 5 and dad aka "sperm donor" always promising to see my sister and I and never following thru, mom always working and never having time for us, being bullied, and then my mom remarrying when I was 10 and being tormented by my stepsisters,  and the list goes on and on and on.)

Well, eating has now BECAME the problem.  Of course I now realize that eating has ALWAYS been the problem but I am here to take control and change that FOREVER.  I have tried all the roller coaster and fad diets.  Weight Watchers actually worked for me for about a year. Then I fell off the bandwagon and never got back on. : (

I have always wanted to be the "pretty skinny chick" that everybody wanted to be like.  I was obviously trying to be "skinny" for all the wrong reasons.

A lightbulb finally clicked in my head and I am now on my lifestyle change to become HEALTHY, and NOT to be the "pretty skinny chick".  (Although being skinny will be nice. LOL)

I started this change at the beginning of May (May 10th to be exact.) I started at the heaviest I have ever been in my life and am ashamed to say that number is/was and will NEVER EVER AGAIN be at 282#.  I am now at 266.4#

My dad (who is actually my stepdad since I was 10 but I look to as and he is "DAD") had a heart attack on April 15th, 2010 and another on May 7th, 2010.  He also suffers from Diabetes, Sleep Apnea, and High blood pressure and is on 8 different medications because of all this crap.  The heart attacks (mainly the 2nd one) were my AHA eye opening moments.  (He actually died on the table twice and the doctors are astonished they were able to bring him back).  SO with all of this, my whole family (my mom and 5 sisters {only 1 of the sisters is actually healthy}) have began our lifestyle change.  Dad had heart surgery in May and is doing excellent. Says he has felt the best he has in 15 years.  We have all joined our local YMCA's and have been exercising regularly and we are on the path of getting all of our lives back.

I am now confident that my now 5 year old son will have his momma around much longer and will be able  to watch him grow into a successful young man.
