I just can't seem to get to the point where I stick to an eating plan with out fail. For a while I kept on track and then summer hits, parties happen, family picnics, etc. I have not been happy about my weight, having to go up a pant size (really two) and my general feeling of blah and bloating. I discovered that I really enjoy microbrews and good wine. So needless to say when I stepped on the scale this past weekend at my brother-in-law's house and it hit 158 I thought I was going to cry. The next day it was down to 152 and by the time I got home it was at 150, not good by better than 158! Back in the early 2000's I weighed in at 125 regulary, I want that again. I was much more strict with my eating habbits then and did a lot of weight lifting (actually competed in powerlifting and have a few trophys).
Then I took up running and dropped the lifting, I even competed in a sprint triathlon. But with all this cardio my appetite skyrocketed, when I had an injury to my knee I had to stop the running, cycling, everything. But my appetite remained and I discovered the joy of wine and beer. Now 25 pounds heavier I am back to the exercise, Kettlebells, lifting, running and tennis. But my alcohol consumption stayed the same and my eating too. So the weight isn't budging.
Today I started a new diet plan and am going to stick with it, no alcohol either. But again life happens and I am going camping with my sister this weekend and there will be all kinds of horrific food as well as plenty of beer. Good God I need strength!
