Fresh Fruit Tip

I am fortunate enough to live near local farms where I can purchase fruit and vegetables fresh from the fields. Every summer I visit my local bluberry farm and pick my own fresh berries. We can eat our fill while picking and take home a bucket full. Our local peach farm grows wonderful Freestone Peaches. The season is so short I purchase as much as I need for the year. As soon as I get home, I will freeze what I can't eat within a few days. The peaches need to be sprinkled with Fruit Fresh to keep the color bright and enhance the incredible flavor. The Blueberries are placed in freezer zip bags without rinsing. They are rinsed when ready to be used. Whenever my bananas begin to get too ripe, I will peel them, cut into 1 inch pieces and freeze. The color and flavor remains the same. Grapes also freeze well and can be added to vegetable shakes for a sweeter flavor. Freezing is a wonderful way to enjoy farm fresh fruit even when the season has ended. The fruit is ready for smoothies or baking. All the flavor without preservatives, added sugar, artificial flavors or other additives.
