Monday, my sister and I are embarking on a new journey and a challenge: We have each gotten ourselves to a place, physically, we don't want to be. We're hoping that by entering into a little friendly competition, we'll be able to establish some good habits over the next 12 weeks that will stick with us. This isn't your run-of-the-mill weight loss competition where the one who losses the most pounds wins. No, that would be too simple and, while we each might lose some weight, it's not likely to create the new habits and lifestyle that we're looking for.
We'll be competing over weight-loss, sure, but also for strength gained, inches lost in the right places, how well we stick to our exercise plans, the overall healthiness of our meals as well the economical aspects (we're both on a tight budget). We haven't figured out the prize(s) yet (although, I know that if I win, there is some baby-sitting in there some where!), but we'll work that out.
This will be the details from my side of game. I'm calling this journey Healthy Eating for Example because my 4-year-old and 1-year-old are watching ... everything! I want to be doing the things I want for them - children learn by example, not lecture.
