So Far So Good

Started on August 1st on my Get Fit regiment. Started to eat more healthy, salads, veggies and fruit and no fried or deep fried foods. Also got back on my treadmill after taking a year break from it. The best part of all was I even took a 3 week holiday and managed to stay on track. No treadmill but still did my walking each day, except when it rained all day. The nice part of where I went is that it was not flat ground to walk on, there were lots of major hills to walk up. On a treadmill it would have been between a 15 to 20 percent incline. First time I went up this hill I thought I was going to die, couldn't breath and huffing something awful. By the time I got to the top my breathing got better, each day got better. I was even able to go out to restaurants and eat within my calorie range. I average about 825 calories a day. Of the 3 weeks of holidays there was only 3 days that I overshot my goal. Those days I averaged 1700 calories. But what do you do when you go to a all you can eat seafood smorg with king crab legs, YUM. So all said and done since I started I have so far lost 22lbs. Right now I am finding it easy to stay on track due to the fact that my husband is out working in the bush and I can eat the things I need to loose the weight I need to drop. My fear is that when he returns I know he will not eat what I do and I will have to make 2 different menus for each meal. Will power, I know, but he likes lots of hamburger dishes with pasta and lots of cheese. Way to many calories, that is how I got into this position in the first place. I sort of lack the will power to not eat those foods. He hates salad, I now eat lots of salads. No bacon or eggs, he likes this for breakfast. My breakfast is Source Yogurt, only 35 calories per 100gr. sometimes I add 1/2 cup multi grain Cheerios they are only 55 calories. I am finding that there are a lot of good foods low in calories. Love this program makes it easy to track calories per portion size. Oh ya I have a scale as well for weighing my portions which helps in tracking the calories.
