The first couple days of February have been....meh. I ate something the other day that I reacted to, and it's lasted a few days. Gotta love food intolerances. Today I got out and shoveled a bunch of snow, that hard packed stuff that the street scrapers shoved up onto the sidewalk. My back and arms ache, but a good ache. Tomorrow is Grocery Day...I can tell because I'm wandering the house moaning about how I really want a snack! There's NOTHING in the house to snack on. I could drag out some baking supplies, but that's not as much fun as snagging a bag of cookies and scarfing them down while watching American Idol. So, Im' not snacking. I haven't weighed in, mostly because the scale hasn't moved in a month. Not even half a pound. I suppose it's good that it's not inching upwards, but come on...I change alot of sedentary habits and NOTHING? Someone's sick sick joke. However, with the few days of not snacking...my freshly washed track pants aren't skin tight. I know i know....no snacks =weight loss. How boring! So my challenge tomorrow in the grocery store is to not automatically reach for the same snacks I always buy. Luckily I'm allergic to wheat, so if I manage to buy snacks for the kids and the hub with wheat, even if I'm craving something, I will have to steer clear of those. I can't be one of those people that craves a bag of chips but has carrots instead. If it's chips I want, I can eat an entire garden of crunchy veggies and STILL crave the chips. I just have to find the right chips, and not eat an entire bag. Or if I do eat the bag, just do it once a week. I've tried following diets, regimenting things, and I just can't do it. My diet is so screwy anyhow, and most of the time I have to make two dinners just so I can eat with the family. (as in, I have a picky eater 4 year old who LOVES mac&cheese and chicken nuggets). This is why my journey is more focused on getting active. One happyface on my calendar so far this month. Go girl! Maybe this month I will lose some pounds.
