Really?

So I just entered in my measurements for the body fat and did not like what I saw. 30%!!!!!!! It made me wonder how accurate it was. I would like to lose 10lbs but really seem to lack the motivation and will power to do so. A common theme it seems.
My BMI is OK and I already work out enough; in fact I'm training for a 25K but feel that weighing 10lbs less would be a lot kinder to my knees and hips.
I really would like to do a complete overhaul of the way I eat but everything I've read says don't give in to that temptation, start by making small changes. I feel that I need to make a 6 week comitment to this and maybe should outline what my goals are for each week. Cause that is a weight loss of 1.6lbs a week. doable? small changes, small changes.
My overall goals are to lose 2 inches from my waist and 1 from my hips.
lose 1.6 lbs a week for the end goal of 10lbs by March 31.
Ok, so for this week, week 1
drink the recommended amount of water each week and keep my calorie intake under 2000......
monday failed both of those goals
Tue: ditto
Wed: holding out hope.........
