13 days and going strong

Today is the start of day 13. The past two weeks have been good and I have learned a lot about my eating habits and having to track everything I eat has really helped me to make better decisions. I used to do things like grab a handful of trail mix and not think twice about it but now I find myself always thinking "if I do that then I have to track it and I don't know how much a handful is" and I almost always decide its not worth it. I was not successful at giving up cheese or having a cleansing day once a week but I think I will get there. Just recording my calories is a huge start for me and I am taking it slow.
When I first started this program I was at the end of an 18 week training program preparing to run a marathon. Well over the past couple days that has now changed and I am no longer going to be able to run the marathon that I was signed up for. Long story short it wasn't the Lord's plan and He is teaching me a huge lesson in letting go and learning that plans are just that, plans but ultimately I have to be willing to let everything change a moments notice if His plan is not my plan. I just keep reminding myself that His ways are not my ways and His plans are not my plans, they are immeasurably more than all I can ask or imagine. Maybe one day a marathon will be able to be crossed off the bucket list!
All of that to say that after 13 days I have lost.... 5 lbs!!!
