I am going to try to use this to keep track of what my goals are and how I'm doing, hopefully forcing some sort of accountability.
Right now, I would prefer to lose inches over pounds. I would like to purchase a custom made corset towards the fall when I have money saved up. My waist is currently 35", and corsets should help you lace down 4". So ideally, I'd like to lose 6-7 inches to be able to lace down to apx 25". Obviously similar results in other areas of my body as well - my hips could certainly lose many inches.
One of my frustrations with my weight is that I have always been and will continue to be a bigger person. I come from a family of large breasted women. I have naturally big hips and was a figure skater for 15 years, so also have thick muscular legs. For someone my height, the ideal weights range from 105-150. I was about 150 at the end of high school, so I can't really see being smaller than that.
For now, my long term goals will be to shed inches and aim for 150. Today I took all my measurements and weighed in at 215, which is about where I expected.
My plan is to watch what I eat - although I eat lots of sweets now, I am good at portion control and don't consume a lot at a time. So it's just a matter of substitution really. The second part of the plan (and most important) is to get out and excercise. This week I am going to head back to the Y to try out a class that fits in with my schedule, and if I don't enjoy it then to meet with a trainer and come up with something that will work for me. I would like to head there and do toning and cardio 4 days a week, and then pick a fun physical activity (hopefully dog walking for the Humane Society) on the 5th day. I think that this is something I can handle and stick to.
Wish me luck!
