Getting the spark back...

So....my journey of losing weight and getting into shape started back in April. It had been going strong for about 2 1/2 months and then hit a few bumps. My husband and I had been training for an upcoming race in August and doing lots of running. I think I may have pushed too hard and too fast cause I ended up with a stress fracture in my left tibia. Which put me at a complete halt when it came to running....I thought no problem...I can always just lift and set up my bike to get in my cardio...maybe some light yoga. Well...I probably stayed on track for a week and then I started doing my workouts only a couple days a week or maybe one. No Good!! And to add to this workout lapse....it fell at a time where all our family birthdays fall.....LOTS of junk food! Looking back I don't know how I let myself go so easily. I worked my tail off to get where I was at...lost 17lbs, walked through a number of health issues and forged through those because I knew I had to live a healthier lifestyle...yet I so easily said 'oh I will workout tomorrow' or 'this one more scoop of ice cream wont hurt'. Discipline and willpower went completely out the window! Amazingly I only gained 3 lbs....I think what saved me was that I have two little kids and it being summer-time we are always on the go. Hikes, Pool time, Playground, & we walk everywhere. I have a great jogging stroller that I just pack up and head out for the day on an adventure. Thank goodness for this. The frustrating part of it is that I have become a lot weaker from this time off....lost a lot of my hard work building up my running and weight training. But, all due to my own actions....so, now is the time to suck it up and get into gear. Today we put it all back into full force in hopes of losing those last 9 lbs and building an active lifestyle that I can hold onto for years to come!
