I'm all over the place

I am really committed to get fit. The problem is there are so many programs out there to help you. I am now a member of 3 fitness sites. They all have different recommendations for diet and exercise programs. I have found that I've been jumping around from one program to another. I feel like I have fitness ADD. Some advice: More is not better. In fact, it's overwhelming. So I'm sticking to this site, not logging into the other ones. In fact, I'm not even following the exercise program on THIS site.
The last time I was on a fitness kick, I had bought a book with a program in it for women. I never tried it. I'm on day 2, and I've lost weight already and I don't feel that I'm working as hard as I was before. More is not better. I must be doing things that are more effective, because my muscles are sore everyday. That is a good thing. I will stick to this program for the 6 weeks and report back. If it works for me, I'll start it all over and do it again. I'll keep you posted. (Does anyone else read these?)
