Sick of Sweets!

Why do we bake so much junk for the Holidays? I find myself feeding my family chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, peanut butter fudge, gobs, oreo balls, cheesecake etc. Why? All in the name of Christmas. Who else finds themselves baking way too much to consume in a year; not to mention 1 days time. My grandkids would just eat sweets non-stop and forget about the meals. This is crazy! On my to do list for tomorrow, bake some more. Why, my son is a runner, my daughter is 103 at age 25, and my other daughter has two sons who do not need that junk in the house; yet, as nana I fall into the "Nana, Mom" role of having way too much food. Did I say food? I mean junk-aka-sweets. I have gainned back 3 pds. since coming back to the states.  I think I did it eating breads. I love carbs. even better than sweets. It's a crazy cycle. No sugar in the house to lets bake -it's Christmas after all. I'm glad it only comes once a year. Merry Christmas and pass the sugar, please.
