I stumbled upon this site doing some general fitness searches and I have to admit after poking around almost all day, I am very impressed and am going to use this site instead of another popular site that is not nearly as robust as this one.
I am a bit of nerd, I like to track everything - calories, consumption, measurements, you name it, I like to record it. And its all here -- I don't have to go to multiple sources.
Why do I like/need/want to record it all? Before turning 40, I could just look at a treadmill and start to lose weight. It has never been a problem for me - sure, it fluctuated but, I was fortunate enough to not have to really work hard to lose it. Well, 2 years and 25 pounds later, I have realized that just isn't true -- so, being analytical, I like to see the numbers.
So today, I went through this site and I think I have explored all of the features and tracking abilities. For the first week, I am just going to plan my meals and work outs on a day to day basis so I can add my recipies, create my workouts, etc.
One thing I am curious about is the calorie expenditure. I have a Bodybugg - so I am curious to see how the calorie burn will compare with the pre-defined exercises and what the system estimates I will burn. As long as the burn record is within 10-15% of my Bodybugg, I am fine.
If you want to follow this blog -future posts will be about marathong training, half marathon training, running, and incorporating Les Mill Body Pump.
My start day numbers are just that - and through accurate documentation, weighing food, comparing my Bodybugg calories burned to the sites estimated expenditure will help me tweak my program along the way. Every BODY is different. If something doesn't work for you, it's ok, review it, analyze it and modify it. Life and weight loss, and fitness is constantly changing.
Just remember, the only work outs you regret are the ones you don't do.
