Good Afternoon to all,

I just signed up with this site in hopes for some help in making lifestyle changes to help me reach my goal weight and get my health back.  Just a quick intro....well I'll try to condense this...LOL

I am a stay at home mom of 3 wonderful children and married to the best man in the world.  We live on a small 5 acre farm. My husband and I run out own business, I have a garden that I take care of myself.  Trying to grow and raise as much of our food as possible.  I do alot of canning and food preservation.  We have horses, dogs, a donkey, a baby pot bellied pig and MANY chickens....lol  Needless to say I keep very busy.

Last year we were finally able to get health insurance as being "self employed" with our business we just couldn't affored regular insurance.  So we now have a state provided insurance.  Needless to say we have both been able to get check ups etc.

4 years ago we were in a double impact rear ended car accident that left me with a herniated and a bulging disc in my neck.  I received medical treatments for a very short time for this until the accident insurance ran out.  So I've just dealt with the pain day to day still doing everything I have to get done.  Recently this past March we were T-Boned totalling out my Expedition and leaving me with now 2 discs that the Dr. is wanting to replace and mid and low back pain.  Due to this a whole back MRI was done and in doing so found a small mass on my thyroid gland.  I am also, not accident related, facing a hysterectomy due to severe pain etc...that I've had for the past several years.  But with no insurance what is one to do.  Now that we have Ins. I am getting all of this taken care of.

With all of that said.....back 6 years ago I had lost 100 pounds putting me down to 160. Then I got pregnant and went up to 230.  I was just loosing the baby weight when my baby girl was 10 months old I found out I was pregnant again.  This time with a bouncing baby boy.  The day after he was born I had a Tubal Ligation.

For the past several years I have tried loosing weight to no avail.  I have done everything I know to do.....and just kept gaining.  I am now back at my starting point before I lost the 100 pounds before having my second girl 6 years ago.

But now knowing that my thyroid has been affected from the mass and the 2 discs in my neck that affect your thyroid I am finally starting to get some answers.

Yesterday I went in for thyroid bloodwork and am waiting for results.  But for now I have been told that I have to eat 1500 calories a day spreading them out eating small amounts throughout the day.  This is going to be hard because for years I have trained myself to Not eat....to the point where I only eat a small supper and that is it.  I was afraid to eat because I didn't want to keep gaining weight.  So now I have to eat.

Regardless of everything I still enjoy life.....I am very active with my kids, farm, animals, gardening, in the shop helping my husband build cabinets and do woodwork and home renovations etc...etc...etc...the list is never ending.  I won't let weight or pain stop me.  I have too much to live for.  Just have to take this one day at a time and keep pushing through for medical answers so I can get my health back.

I do apologize for rambling.....I know I said I would try to make this short......and trust me....this is short....LOL

I am hoping to learn from everyone here and also maybe help some others in their journey to weight loss, better health and a happy and healthy life.

Sincerely,

FitBefore40 (my goal)

Thanks for listening.  :-)
