In the beginning...

It's Sunday, early afternoon. I'm sitting on the couch surfing the web while my six year old watches TV.  I start out looking for good deals on new and used cars. I'm obsessed with getting a new one, my husband rolls his eyes because I ask for a new one every year around this time.  I know subconsciously I want something to make me feel better due to my weight, but I haven't been willing to do anything major about that, so I try other things to fullfill my need to be happy. I decide to start searching for "healthy weight loss plans" and I find FitClick and it seems like a good idea to I create an account and here I am.

My story starts long before that, as everyones does. Here is the story about my road traveled.

In the beginning...a long ago, I was a very athletic child.  We had a pool when I was young and I took swimming lessons and swam like a fish.  My dad signed me up for softball when I was about 8 years old. I played softball, and played it very well, until I graduated high school.  During my teenage years, my mom and I had a difficult relationship.  When ever I felt trapped by her, i would get my running shoes and head out the door.  I would run for hours just to get out of the house.  When I was at school, I had 6th period PE since I played sports.  There was no plan for the class, you either had to run or practice your sport.  I chose to run on the track and watch the football players practice.  YUMMY!!  I was attractive and fit and I felt very comfortable in my skin. I weighed 165 pounds and had a 29 inch waist.  I was HOT and I knew it.

Once out of high school, my activity level took a sharp decline. I barley graduated and had to go to summer school to get my diploma.  I worked at the mall for awhile and it was at one of those jobs I became friends with another girl and I met her brother.  He was so gorgeous and I had to have him.  Shortly after, I became pregnant.  Around the same time, my mom decided to move several states away and made it very clear I was not invited.  My baby dad and I decided it was best to get married and off we went to the chapel.  I finally felt independent and I was on my way to adulthood.

During my pregnancy, I went through lots of changes.  My body was changing, my relationship with my husband was changing and my diet was changing.  We had no money and we lived with his parents.  Needless to say, my diet was not good.  At month 4 into my pregnancy, I started to get stretch marks.  I was so embarressed that my beautiful stomach that I loved to show off was now being scarred for life.  The doctor was tellling me I had gained all the weight I should during a full term pregnancy, which meant "You've gained 30 pounds and need to stop gaining more." Unfortunatley, I still had 5 months left to go and more food to eat.  The doctor sent me to a nutrition class and said I needed to start exercising.  At the next visit I was at 199 pounds...I couldn't beleive I was 1 pound away from 200 pounds and I was only 20 years old!! If you would have asked me if I saw myself in this predicament within 2 years of graduation, I would have laughed at you.

By the time I gave birth, I was topping the scales at 265 pounds. I was HUGE and I knew it.

For the first three months of my daughters life, I lost weight consistently.  We had moved out of my husbands parents house and into our own appartment.  I was happy.  Then one day, I thought I better get a pregnancy test...low and behold, I was pregnant, again! I had lost a total of 30 pounds by then. I promised myself I was not going to weigh more when I gave borth this time.  During my pregnancy, my husband and I went our seperate ways and I moved in with my parents (remember they lived several states away).  It was culture shock, but I was happy.  My Mom helped me take care of my daughter and helped me not gain to much weight during my second pregnancy.  I gave birth 1 year after the birth of my daughter and weighed 265 pounds.  My husband I had had settled our differences and he was there for the birth of our second child.  I was still HUGE and I hated it.

Fast forward 4 years, my marriage was finally over and I was back living with my mom.  I had a good job and I was happy to be free.  My weight wasn't where it was when I was in high school, but it wasn't 265 pounds anymore.  I started dating and eventually got remarried.  I got pregnant for the third time shortly after I got married.  I had decided I wasn't going to be pregnant after 30 and by then I was alomost 30 years old.  The wight started to come back on and when I gave birth, I weighed 265 pounds.  I was shocked that I weighed the same amount each time.  I was still HUGE, but I was OK with that, I had a great husband and a great family, I was happy.

I struggled with my weight and one day I made a decision to loose the weight and I went to one of the advertise weight loss places.  I lost 50 pounds and for the first time since I was 19 years old, I was under 200 pounds.  Then, I started having stomach issues and had to go through many tests before the doctor said I had to stop the weight loss program I was on and slowly I started to gain the weight back.  I decided to go to a different weight loss place after my weight had balooned back to where I started.  At the new place, I only got my weight down to 210 pounds and I was struggling.  I gave it up and continually gained until I was at 275 pounds. I asked my doctor what I could do to loose the weight and he put me on a diet pill. I went on vacation and during that time, I was active with swimming in the pool, walking around a very large theme park and hitting the waves in the ocean.  It was great, I felt good and I lost 10 pounds by the time I got home.  I started to slow down my activity and that brings me to today...sitting on the couch watching TV and surfing the web.  I need to do something so I thought I would give this a try...
