Well It's January 3, 2013 and I am starting a weight loss progam.  I recently had my third child and i am tipping the scales at 191.6 pounds.  I am 5'6" and ready to get back down to 130 pounds. 60 pounds is a pretty daunting number though so i have decided to break it down into 10 pound intervals.

Part One Goal:  Lose 10 pounds!

I have decided to try to lose 2 pounds per week this go round to see if i can do it.  I will have to eat 1700 calories per day and burn off 2700 calories per day.  seems pretty doable.  I have ordered the bodyfit media armband to help me track calories in/out and it seems to be tracking things pretty well.

Part One Diet:  Keeping it simple

for the first ten pounds i am just going to try to keep it under 1700 per day.  I will eliminate liquid calories by just drinking water or black coffee.  Breaking meals down to 5 per day.  breakfast /snack /lunch /snack /dinner, where lunch is my largest meal. dinner my smallest

Part One Excercise:  Walking it off

For the first 10 pound goal, i will walk 5 miles a day or about 10,000 steps.  I will warm up @ 2.5 miles per hour for 10 minutes then get up to between 3 and 4 miles an hour until i've walked 4.5 miles then will cool down at 2.5 miles an hour for 20 minutes.  I will add strength training my next goal.

Part One Time Frame:  February 14, 2013

The first 10 pounds should (hopefully) be off by February 14.  I will only weigh myself on thursday mornings until then.  Wish me luck!
