Ok, up front you need to know that  I have never blogged, so I hope this doesn't stink to bad.  :)   Well, let's start with the basics.  I am 44 years old.   I have been married for 14 years to a really wonderful guy (have you noticed that nobody ever says they're married to a creep).  He really is great and   he spoils me rotten.   Between the 2 of us we have 5 kids (2 girls and a boy for him, 2 boys for me) from our 1st marriages. They are all grown up (ages 21-30), 3 of them are married, but there are no grandbabies yet.   After my husband and our children the other pride and joys in my life are Cooper and Lexi, our adorable malti-poos.   Cooper is 4, Lexi is 2 and as far as I am concerned they are the best dogs in the world....I know you think your dog is better than mine but you are wrong. jk. Alright, let talk about why I am here.   Weight Loss (need I say more?   I do?   oh, ok)   My weight troubles started with that very first pregnancy....thanks alot Steven.  Ok, I won't blame him, it's not his fault that I craved chocolate covered cherries and Big Mac's.  It's also not his fault that I gave into every single one of those cravings.  The result was that I started that pregnancy at 110 lbs (I'm 5'2" by the way) and ended it at 150 lbs.   Guess what I didn't know....when the baby is born you only lose about 20 pounds or so....the rest stays with you.  So, for the next 2 1/2 years my weight stayed around 130, then I got pregnant again.   Did I gain another 40 lbs with this one (his name is Bradley by the way)?   No, I didn't.   I stayed so sick in my first trimester that I actually lost 15 lbs....my OB/GYN was somewhat concerned.  When I finally was able to keep food down again I only gained 20 lbs putting me at 5 lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight at term.  This time though I didn't lose a full 20 lbs when he was born....I ended up around 125.   Well, years go by and little by little, a pound here and a pound there, my weight just kept on creeping up.   I was 50 lbs overweight (160lbs) when I decided to quit smoking in 2009, since then I have gain another 65 lbs (currently at 225 lbs). A little advice.....  If you decide to quit smoking, find something to do to help with the cravings besides eat.  I know that the hand to mouth habit is a toughy, but I wish I had found a way to deal with it besides snacking.  So, are you asking yourself yet what the point is to this blog?  Me too.  No really, here it is.  I need to lose 115 lbs.  Yep that's it.  I also need your help and encouragment, not that I don't have a good support system, but let me just tell you this about my husband.  HE'S SKINNY.....he used to almost be too skinny....he quit smoking in 2010, gained about 25 lbs and it just made him look healthier ( I know this is true because my Mama told him so).  Ok, I suppose that's enough time spent sitting at the computer today.  I will close by saying "Welcome to my journey, Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride".   No, I don't have to give Bette Davis credit for that quote because she didn't say ride, she said night.  Have a good one!!!!
