Hi Y'all,
I will start by apologizing for going 2 months without an entry. I had forgotten my password and had to get everything reset. Plus the normal holiday stuff going on. My health has not been the best lately either. I will try to do better about writing something at least once a week.
So let's dive into the world of updates..........
Most recent in my life, I went to the doctor for a checkup recently. I am having some medication adjustments done. But the big shocker for me was when they did a lung capacity test. I was not expecting it. My results are not good.
Also....
I need to lose 150 pounds. That did not come as any surprise. I have known that for some time now. The poor lung test has got me thinking more about the shape I am in regards to eating habits and exercise. I am only barely in my 40s. I would like to live another 40 years at least.
My back has been hurting so, I have also had many x-rays done to see about the health of my spine. There is some cencern I might be showing early signs of MS. I just keep telling myself that no matter what results the doctor gives me I will have a good attitude about it.
In case you are wondering what changes I have made to get a start on things, here we go. I am making another attempt to give up soft drinks and drink more water. I am doing pretty good with this so far. Its been 4 days counting today. There is even a coke-cola in the house and I have not touched it.
I am also giving up Ibuprofen for pain relief. It was discovered that it was causing the acid reflux problem bothering me the last few months. I am making the switch to an Rx. This has been a challenge with the cold weather we are having in North Carolina. I am achy and uncomfortable, but I know in the end it will be worth it.
As I resume tracking my food, I notice a few trouble areas in my eating. I love salt more then sugar. Although they both are high on my charts right now. I am noticing how low some of my important things like protein and fiber are at the moment. But I look at it this way, this is the advantage of Fitclick. I can see the problem areas so I can fix them. By the way, just dropping the sodas from my diet has shaved 1,000 to 2,000 calories off my daily calorie amount. So if you have not done this already I encourage you to make the change.
Remember though that to avoid failure you should probably only make 1 to 2 major changes at a time. If you try to change too much at one time it can become overwhelming. Baby steps. This is something I have had to learn the hard way. I hope this entry will make the journey easier for someone else.
God Bless You,
Susan
