Overview
Queens is perhaps New York’s most famous borough. The borough itself is comprised of several neighborhoods, which can easily compete with some of the best cities in the nation. Italians, Hispanics, Guyanese, Bangladeshis, Trinidadians, Afro-Caribbeans and African Americans comprise its neighborhood. Most of the long-time Italian-American residents have settled in the Sixth Congressional District. Small businesses can be found along Liberty Avenue, while the neighborhood of South Ozone Park has its main business strip on Rockaway Boulevard.

Exploring the City
The neighborhood of South Ozone Park is served by many bus routes. The Q8 can be found on 101st Avenue, Q7 on Rockaway Boulevard, Q11 on Woodhaven Boulevard, Q24 on Atlantic Avenue, and finally, Q21 and Q41 on Cross Bay Boulevard. If you want to save on expensive taxi fares, make sure to arrive at the bus terminals on time. South Ozone Park is also served by the IND Fulton Street Line of the New York City Subway, which runs along Liberty Avenue. Rockaway Boulevard also has a station, which serves as a junction for tourists heading towards Lefferts Boulevard or Ozone Park. Tourists can also visit the JFK Airport through the Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue.
Things to Do
Nothing beats bargain shopping. The nearby Green Acres mall is an excellent place to scour for the latest finds at fair prices. Several cocktail lounges and restaurants can be found along Main Street. Try your luck at the Holiday Weekend stakes offered by the New York Racetrack - Aqueduct, tour through the 1860 historic clock tower which was once a porcelain enamelware factory, or participate in sea otter, penguin and walrus feeding at the New York Aquarium.
