Green cities are a concept that is unfamiliar to many, but that ensures that nature is incorporated into the design of a city in a manner that the people are able to enjoy nature as clearly  write my discussion post. Green cities do not translate into the conversion of an entire park, covering acres of land. It can be achieved through small projects that ensure nature is introduced into the landscape. Lately, the concept of Green city “living” has taken a backseat. This is an era where cities suffer from high competition from limited resources, space, and limited development. Nonetheless, there are avenues through which green cities can be restored, in a manner that creates recreational centers where people can enjoy while conserving nature.

It is worth noting that cities are made of more than just people or buildings. Some of the most “livable cities” as well as the most famous cities are well known for their open spaces and culture. Open spaces within the Urban Environment serve to offer some advantages. These may include the preservation of the natural environment, and spot and recreation centers, among others. As such, green spaces need to be a vital consideration in urban design, if the health of the city, as well as the health of the people, are to be considered as important.

One of the avenues through which green cities can be achieved is through the introduction of golf Courses. Golf courses are often made of tracts of green trees and soil. Such patches encourage biodiversity in addition to protecting nature. A healthy lawn is more likely to absorb rainwater about 6 times compared to a wheat farm. Trees can be used as natural storm management since a large tree is more likely to absorb 60-70 times of water compared to small trees. Proper landscaping will cut back on the nitrate leaching from the soil and into the supply of water. The water run-offs should be redirected, to keep other pollutants and phosphorous out of the waterways. Such a move will also prevent the septic systems from being overloaded. The rainwater should also be retained. In as much as the environment will be conserved, people will also be able to enjoy the sport of golfing.

Another non-orthodox method of preserving the environment is through the introduction of Off-Road Recreational Vehicles (ORV). These are vehicles that have been designed for off-read driving. For the purposes of green cities, the off-road vehicles will be included within the vehicle classification framework. Such will include dirt bikes, and all-terrain vehicles (ATV). The introduction of such vehicles allows the city designers to m the natural landscape o and trees in of the land, rather than flattening it out. More practically, the ORVs can be used in small sections of the cities, while the other sections are left for all the other types of vehicles.

Another way of incorporating lifestyles into nature would be through the introduction of hunting outfitters. Hunting has been a traditional recreational activity for decades. If the city has an area of wilderness, then it can be used for hunting. Some people may prefer self-guided hunting activities; nonetheless, in the hunt of certain species, there may be a need to hire a guide. Through such hunting activities, the people can be able to interact with the wilderness, as they also conserve the environment. An example of such a project is the Guide Outfitters Association of BC. It was established in the year 1966, for the protection as well as the preservation of outfitters that have a preference for hunting and the wildlife habitat. Such a move would ensure that people are existed to conserve their environment.

It is also worth considering Cycling as part of incorporating human activities into nature. Cycling is a common recreational activity, which is often enjoyed in a variety of terrain, favorable weather conditions, and spectacular scenery. It is a recreational activity that can be enjoyed by about 44% of the residents. Cycling within the design of the city would require the introduction of bicycle ramps and bicycle routes along the city drives and roads. Cycling can be categorized into mountain biking and road cycling, road cycling would appeal to the individual that are interested in riding on paved roads as well as bikes that are meant for long-distance traveling, efficiently and effectively. Mountain biking involves being able to ride on unpaved routes and trails, which have been designed for multipurpose and biking. Biking and cycling are ways to allow people to enjoy the scenery while protecting the environment in its ordinary manner.

To ensure the greenery on buildings is enhanced, the cities may adopt the use of greenery on buildings, which would increase the amount of green spaces within the citifies. As a result, it would create habitats for animals. In the case of new constructions, maintenance, and renovation of the real estate, buildings are out to receive greenery. Or have their existing greenery enhanced? The urban designer should take into consideration the investments as well as their follow-up costs. According to building measures in 2020, life-cycle biodiversity will be considered systematically and implemented during the early stages, and in all planning cases. In the same manner, the user can receive ecological solutions for the protection of biodiversity. All in all, having structures that function as habitats for animals and the prevention of invasion of planets, are all potential benefits. In the same men, there is a need to pay attention to new vegetation, with regard to function and location. In adjusting the regulations of buildings, the federal government may have to examine the possibility of recording as well as documenting greenery measures to the construction of structures.

The has been a raisings interest in the trajectory of climate/water transmission, due to the common vision of what the future relationships with water would look like. The focus of the future is on the roles of water in the lives of the inhabitants within the economy in addition to how these roles fit into urban design. The term Water Sensitive Cities seems to be a blurry concept of the relationship between governance, people, living ecosystems, built environment, water, and infrastructure. It serves a particular purpose, which will allow people to share as well as compare their comprehension of the emerging water strategies in a manner that will facilitate their orientation. There are a number of ways through which green spaces can be created within cities, to facilitate the human environment interaction. One such way is through the protection of the quality of water

In conclusion, green cities is a concept that is quickly catching up. It essential to note that green cities do not require one large open space, to adopt the green city movement. There are very small projects that cities can take on to enhance the interaction of people and nature. Some of such projects would involve the introduction of the following activities, golfing and golf Courses, Off-Road Recreational Vehicles, hunting outfitters, Cycling, greenery on buildings, and water protection. Such projects would ensure that man becomes one with nature and man is also able to restore and protect the environment. Perhaps green cities are a concept that is worth considering for all cities.
