When I first went to basic, I probably couldn't do more than a couple of lousy pushups and situps, and I definately could not run worth a damn. We are talking like a 13 minute mile. Although the summer before I left for basic I was in karate and did some workouts here and there, it was like I was doing the bare minimum. I had no motivation, and I hated working out. Why would I put myself through so much pain?
When I did finally get there, I wasn't in the worst ...
