When I was 8 yrs. old and my sister was 12. Our dad was killed in a car crash at 39 yrs. old. He was on his way home from work. It was so hard growing up without him. Well, we managed with just my mom. Never did I think that would happen to me and my children.
When I was a senior in high school. I was introduced to someone. Well, I had just gone through a bad break-up. So, a friend of mine wanted to set me up with someone she knew. I said, O.K. She said there are 2 guys that drive camaros. I told her that the car doesn't matter as long as he is a good person. But I love camaros that's my favorite car. So I choose the one with the white camaro. His name was Scott. I got to meet on the phone. Thanks to my friend for tricking us to talk by putting us on 3 way. Talk about not knowing what to say but we did get to know each other and he asked me out for a date for that next Friday night I said, "sure, why not?"
When he pulled up in-front of my house, I couldn't believe that I was fixing' to ride in that 1992 white T top camaro. It was nice, let me tell you. Then, he got out of the car and I was already standing outside. But he opened the door for me (yes, I was shocked). He was so cute. He got some Italian blood in him. Tall, dark and handsome that's all I can say about that.
We dated for about 8 months and got engaged Christmas 99'. Well, February 2000 we found out I was pregnant (oops, a little too much celebration I guess). We had planned a Christmas wedding but that wedding was a lot sooner. So, we got married Feb. 29, 2000. We didn't know it was Leap Year until after we were married. I still laugh about it.
Just when I thought things were going great. My grandmother whom I was very close to died in Feb. A very good friend of mine was killed by a drunk driver in May. I was going through this pregnancy in (what it seemed) the hot summers. My job at the time was giving me trouble because I needed to stay of my feet as much as possible and they wouldn't provide a chair for me. Even after I gave them a note from the doctor. It was a retail store. In July my granddaddy died. Then my mom got remarried (finally something happy). Then, 2 weeks later July 20, 2000. Our son Jaysen was born 3 months too soon. Weighing at only 3 1/2 LBS. But the nurses told me that he was the healthiest primee they've ever seen. He just needed help with breathing. My doc. said that he came so early because I was under so much stress.
Well, after I had Jaysen. My job wouldn't let me come back. Only because I left before my maternity leave. Like I could help that my baby came so soon. But I did find a job down the road. We finally got our first apartment in March 2001. Just when I thought things were going good. I lost my job in Oct. 2001. Just because they had too many people. So they had to let some go. What a bummer. We lost the apartment and moved in with my mom. I lucked up and found another job that I loved in Feb. 2002. We were able to find another apartment and doing great. We found out in June 2002 I was pregnant with our 2nd child we were so happy. We were hoping for a girl this time.
August 27, 2002 I got off of work and went to my mom's to pick up Jaysen. My mom stopped me and said we need to go to the hospital. I asked her where Jaysen was. She said he's staying with my friend Amy's house for now because we need to go to the hospital. So, I started asking Who, What, and Why. She wouldn't tell me. I asked, "is it Scott?" She did say anything. When we got to the hospital there was a lady standing by the door. For some reason I knew she was there for me. Asked who I was. Then we followed to this room. I mean the whole family was there, mine and his. A detective came in and told us that Scott had been killed. He was shot in the chest by some girl that was supposed to be a friend. Trying to rob him.
Here I am with a 2 yr. old boy and 4 months pregnant. I was going nuts. Then, In Oct. I found out I was having twin girls. First set of twins in both families. They were born Jan. 17, 2003. Anna Marie weighing at 4 LBS 9 OZ. and Alexis Michelle weighing at 4 LBS. and 15 OZ. They were 15 min. apart with no C-section. Anna came out in the hall she couldn't wait to get in the O.R. It was funny.
A year later I met a good friend of Scott's that he went to school with. We just started talking. We got married 3 years later. March 25, 2006 he's great with the kids. That's a +. Shortly after we were married. Jaysen was diagnosed with ADHD and autism. I believe it has a lot to with losing his daddy. We are doing everything we can to get him the help he needs.
Now I'm going through a divorce. We have God on our side and I believe that if it wasn't for my faith in God and Jesus. I honestly don't know how I would still be living.
Those of you that might be going through those hard times always remember God has his hands on it and will guide you through. I am still going through a broken road since my son has autism but i know God will help me. I just have to ask him.
I also know life is not perfect. It's not going to be perfect until you get to heaven.
Thank you for letting me share that with you.
