Today I started my diet. I plan to lose 2 pounds a week. If I lose 2 pounds a week, then I can lose 40 pounds by the end of the year. My plan is to eat healthier, cut down on portion sizes, and to walk at least 4 times a week. I will weigh myself every Sunday and Wednesday. I will log everthing I eat and drink on fitclick. I have set healthy reminders on my work computer and cell phone to remind me to eat healthy and to continue logging on fitclick.
These next four months should be exciting. I plan on losing 2 pounds a week and 2 pounds a week is not excessive. I may even loss more than that in the beginning because of how much I need to lose. I will recalculate how much weight I would like to lose when necessary. I believe my biggest problem is portion sizes. I always seem to eat too much of anything. I do not want to cut any food groups out of my diet. I believe that I will be more successful if I try to eat less all around. I do not need to eat a plate and a half at dinner time. I would like to cut my portion size down.
I found online a dietary plate that showed how much you should be eating of each food group. I was astonished to see how little meat, eggs, beans, and fish I should be eating. When I make these things listed above, they are normally the biggest portion on my plate because I believed them to be the main course/focus point. I was excited to see that I can have 1/3 of my plate for bread and pasta. I will be sure to also have 1/3 of my plate veggies.
I hope to blog about what I find hard about dieting and what I find hard about cutting back. I hope to pinpoint what cause all of these problems.
