Yo-Yo frustration

I am new to tracking my progress online, but not so new to dieting ,tried them all and they all seem to work fine, I am the problem...I know how to take it off but I can't seem to get a handle on keeping it off.
I have been a YoYo dieter since I was in my 20's and I am now 41 yrs old...when will it end? there have been so many times that I thought I would keep it off but to no avail.
I have read Books and joined Groups and practiced positive affirmations etc etc....but I always seem to fall off the wagon about 6mths into a new Plan (way of life).
It has to stop because it is getting more and more difficult to take it off and each time I gain even more weight than the time before. when I started I was maybe 10 lbs overweight and Now i am at my largest at 190 lbs on my 5 ft 4' frame...Not so nice!!
I have joined a gym with a friend 3 weeks ago and have lost only 3lbs to date, very frustrating to say the least, I am following a 1200 calorie/day plan and going to the gym 5 days /week drinking my water and doing everything I can to get this off, took a spinning class today for 45 minutes and thought I was going to vomit by the time I was done...not to mention the fact that i was as red as a tomatoe. but I will not give up , and will not accept myself at this weight .So i guess time will tell. Here goes! :)
