On my journey to avoid diet pills, diet drinks, personal trainers and cosmetic surgery, although there are nothing wrong with these things, I am taking the initiative to do things my way. While my problem has always been that I don't eat enough ( 1 or 2 per day), whatever the reason, I have 40 lbs. to lose before I am at a weight that satisfies me and my health. My goal is not to be skinny nor fit into a pair of skinny jeans, my goal is to look in the mirror or step on a scale and like what I see. Skinny jeans are made for just about everyone and I'm not interested in wearing a bikini, I am interested in peace-of-mind. I can't say that I have actually tried a whole lot of things to lose weight in the past. I have always been scared of diet pills, cosmetic surgery, and personal trainers. Anything that looks like a sit-up, crunch, squat, jumping jack, or push-up, I go the opposite direction because those things beat the hell out of me and discourage me from exercising. I do like to ride my bike, walk, skate, jump rope, salsa, swim, dance, and bowl. Yoga isn't so bad either. My plan is to spend three months doing the things I like for a form of cardio workouts and as a form of weight loss methods to see if "my way," is right for me! I have also created a journal for myself to influence eating more in smaller portions (1300-1400 calories per day using nutritional tips and pointers from fitclick.com), as well as to observe what I did and didn't eat, as well as to watch what I should and shouldn't eat. The first month will be trial and error, I'm sure, but if everything works out, I will have done something big for my life and my body! I'm excited and even if I don't lose the weight, I am staying healthy and that is what really matters, but if my determination and efforts are beneficial, I will lose weight.
