Major life changes = 10 pound gain

Managing my weight isn't just about how many calories I eat. I have to do a reality check about my relationship with food. I have to ask myself - why do I eat? Is it out of hunger? Or emotion? Then I have to question my choice of food. Is it empty calories or nutrition my body needs? How can I get the most out of what I eat to satisfy both my hunger and cravings and loose weight. Or, better yet.... to maintain my weight.
Last September I had a major life change - I gained temporary custody of my deceased daughter's 3 young children. Up until then I was maintaining the weight loss achieved when I joined FitClick back in Dec 2009. Once my 3 grandchildren moved in, my healthy eating went out the window. I found myself struggling to find foods THEY would eat and it certainly wasn't healthy.
Now, 4 months later-----Thanksgiving and Christmas have passed, I find myself 10 pounds heavier. I succeeded with FitClick before, I can do it again. So....here I am.
I carry no shame or guilt with those 10 pounds. I have to learn how to manage MY eating along with 3 picky eaters. This is a new challenge I face and I have to learn how to deal with it.
Soooooooo..... [singing] "Hi Ho, Hi Ho..... it's back to work I GO!!!!!"
