Day 14 and still amazed...

So today is Day 14 of my lifestyle change. I stepped on the scale this morning...3 times...I still expect the scale to go up and not down...but I am officially down 4.8 pounds. I know some people would want more gone at 2 weeks, but I figure slow and steady wins the race. I want to lose a total of 90-100 pounds so I would rather do it slowly and have it stay off forever than quickly and have it come back.
So I decided a week ago that I needed a short term goal, something to keep me motivated. So I found a running program that is run 5k in 6 weeks. I have been doing it faithfully and my knees are not fond of me but my co-worker who has been a wealth of knowledge and support tells me every day that it will get easier. So I came in after I did day 5 where it was run for 3 mins, walk for 1 min..I did it..barely...but I did it, so I told her that I was so proud of myself b/c I was running at 4 on the treadmill (I am 5'4 and she's like that is what she started at when she first started running and now she is running at speed 8 on her treadmill (she is 5'3). I was like I can't imagine running at 8, she said as the weight comes off I will be able to move easier..I can't wait for that day.
So for now I will plug along at Speed 4 and maybe by week 6 I will be running at speed 4.5-5...baby steps...
