75 lbs To Go!

This is my first time ever blogging about anything so here goes. I will be 40 years old in March and I'm a single mother of 5 daughters who has picked up a considerable amount of weight over the years. I finally woke up from the "Mommie Coma" I was in and realized I'm not getting any younger my girls are growing up and will be out of the house soon (some not soon enough) and I don't want to feel old and frumpy.
I have a 3 year old grandson and even though I may be a grandmother I certainly don't want to look like one. So at the beginning of this year I decided I was going to do something for me. Something that was going to make me happy and that is to lose 75 pounds and keep it off. I'd like to look like the old me before I had children.
I realized that I had nothing to motivate me, so I decided to start motivating myself. I've started counting calories and walking to my evening job, which is 4 miles from my home. I found a workout partner that I could workout with during the day while I'm not busy and tomorrow will be our first day working out and I'm really excited. I've started drinking a lot of water and eating a lot of salad and fruit all before 8pm at night and I'm feeling really good about it.
I also intend on weighing myself every Wednesday morning to see what progress I've made during the week. If and when I lose my first 20 pounds which will put me at exactly 200 pounds, I plan on treating myself to a manicure/pedicure session and for every 20 pounds after that I'm going to treat myself. Why?? Because I realize, 2011 is all about me and I'm about to make it happen for me. My goal is to reach 140 pounds. So here I go, watch me shrink.
