Weekend Warrior

I know that I am by no means alone on this front. Why is it so incredibly hard to stick to any diet or workout plans over the weekend? I wake up every monday morning feeling sluggish and ashamed (and even more so once I step on the scale).
During the work week I can manage to workout 3-4 times and stay within my calorie and carb goals. It doesn't even seem that hard and it's incredibly rewarding. But over the weekend.... forget about it. It's so much more fun for my husband and I to go out with our friends and have multiple high calorie drinks. Then wake up the next morning salivating for that hangover cure-all: GREASE. Ugh... Such a vicious cycle.
So how do I beat this? Stop drinking?
Hmmm.... this may be my biggest hurdle yet.
