So apparently the weights I've been using are entirely too light for me! I happened to mention to one of the trainers at the Y that I was surprised that I am rarely sore after I work out... Apparently I should be! At least a little.
So I got an impromptu lesson in choosing the proper weight setting...
The way it was explained to me, it needs to be heavy enough that I can barely finish the reps I have planned. So in other words the last rep I lift... should be the last one I
can lift. That means tomorrow I've got to mix it up and figure out which ones I'm doing wrong! (today was cardio only)
Anyway. I've hit a bit of a weight loss plateau. Bit annoying especially when this calculator on here says based on my calorie & exercise I should be losing at least 2 lbs a week... Oh well I'm told this happens! I just have to remind myself that my goal isn't weight loss, my goal is healthy. Weight loss is an added benefit! As long as I'm exercising and eating right I'm much healthier even if I am still overweight and that is the point right? Right!
