Getting back on track

I wish that I could say that I feel energized and different this time. I started a new doctor supervised program last September that caused me to lose 50 pounds. At first I was really optimistic because for the first time in a long time I saw the weight coming off. It was really hard to do the program and it lasted for 6 weeks. The results were dramatic! Well, needless to say I got cocky in this initial weightloss and started to think that I did this and I can continue to do this in my own way without having to stick to a program so stringently. Well, boy was I wrong! First, I started to see the scale stick at the weight that I attained for several weeks give or take a few pounds. Second, I went for my usual doctor visit and she said that what ever I was doing was not working anymore because my weightloss had plateaued. Then, I stopped receiving the complements that I had been receiving about how great I looked. Finally, I started to see the scale numbers start to creep up to the weight that I ended the program with. These few things more than anything else caused me to pull my head out of my rump and get back on track with my calorie counting. I don't want to go back to the stringent regime that I started out with but I figured that I could maintain 1200 calories a day combined with daily exercise. I started my "new plan" on July 4 and so far I have notice a 5 pound loss. This would seem like not a big deal to most people but for someone who fell off the wagon with everything it is a small victory. I have a considerable amount of weight to lose but for right now my goal is 25 pounds. 20 more pounds to go!
