My first entry

So, my first day was not a success, I ate Fettuccine Alfredo, and even thought in itself is not bed, I ate 2 servings. THAT is what killed me.
For 2 days now I have come within my range, and all I did was pay attention to what I was eating. Is it REALLY that easy? I am actually UNDER my calorie goal for the day and I ate curry. I made yummy potato curry on white rice and even ate a piece of pita bread with it. ????? I'm confused, so many years spent in the military stressing over it, and all I needed to do was relax.
I taking a new approach to this weight loss thing. I'm not going to berate myself if I mess up, nor am I going to obsess about it. I did not even go on a diet plan, I just want to journal my food and see how well I do with bringing my attention to what I am putting in my mouth. I am bored watching TV and playing on the computer, so I decided to get carrot sticks instead of something sugary. If I absolutely HAVE to have something sugary, I will get it...and I will enjoy it, then move on the next day. By obsessing about the sweets, I only make them more desirable. I'm taking the power away from the food.
We'll see how I am doing next week. HAHA!
