I'M LIVING PROOF THAT FITCLICK REALLY WORKS

On October 31, 2009, I celebrated my 60th birthday. Having never done something wonderful just for myself, I decided to treat my self to a once-in-a-lifetime trip to London and Paris. But as it turned out, this trip was more than just a birthday present to myself. It was the beginning of one of the most life-altering experiences of my life.
When I arrived in London I knew I weighed approximately 184 lbs. I had gone through a lot and wanted this trip to be a way for me "shed my skin"; to begin to let go and recharge. But it was so much more than I had hoped for.
I arrived in London on October 30th and spend the next day, my birthday, in Paris. I could not believe I was there. It took my breath away.
As I boarded the cruise down the Sein i felt as if I was stepping out of myself and having an out-of-body experience. As the cruise began I took my camera out. I sat sideways on the outside of the ship so I could photograph in one direction going donw the Sein and, when the ship turned around, I could photograph in the other direction coming back.
I could not breath, I was so filled with joy. But before I could begin taking pictures I welled up with tears and began to cry non-stop. The sounds coming out of me were indescribable. It was as if I had held onto so much pain for so long and this trip was the catalyst for letting go.
I cried as I photographed what was the most breathtaking scenery I had ever seen. Perhaps it was these tears that were responsible for the nearly 300 pictures I took on this cruise that are the most spectular pictures I have ever taken.
It was during this trip that I made a promise to myself that I would start to be good to myself and that would start with finding a way to lose the 60 lbs I needed to get back to the appropriate weight for my height.
When the trip down the Sein was over, I went on to the Louvre and then the Eiffel Tower and then back to London. By the time I returned to London to continue to rest of my vacation I felt reborn.
So you are probably wondering, what did I do to get started losing weight? Well I did research, lots of research.
I do not believe in Jennie Craig, Weight Watchers, NutraSystem or other similar programs. I believed then and I have proven with my success that I could lose weight by eating my own food and keeping track of what I eat. But I wanted something more.
As I continued to research, I came upon Fitclick.com and I knew I had found what I wanted. I then put my plan into play.
First, I put together a team of doctors that I would check in with periodically during my journey: An internal medical doctor, cardiologist and gynecologist. After I was on the program awhile I then went to a nutritionist a couple of times just to make sure I was on the right track.
Although I started to use Fitclick.com in May of 2010, I did not begin to document my progress until July 30, 2010 at which I had already gone down from 184 lbs to 166.4 lbs, a loss of 18 lbs.
I have left out a great deal of what this journey has been like, but what I can tell you is that I am no longer on cholesterol medication; as a matter of fact, I have not had to take any for the past year.
I will tell you that I chose the 40/30/30 program for myself because it allows you to keep track of your carbs, protein, fat, sodium, cholesterol and more.
I am living proof that if you take your time and do it right, you can taken the weight off by doing nothing but eating your own food.
It has been 16 months since I started my journey and I have reached my goal of 125 lbs. As a matter of fact as of September 22, 2011, I weighed in at 124.25 lbs.
My goal is stay at 125 lbs so I am going to reset my program to reconfigure how much I should be eating, using the same 40/30/30 program I used previously.
If there is anyone out there who is just getting started or knows someone who wants to get started, I just want you to know I am here to help.
I live in Astoria, New York, and would be willing to work with individuals over the phone or at their home. I will help you design your menus, show you how to store your food choices and much more.
If I can help just one person feel better about themselves and give them the confidence they need to move forward, that would be great.
But as they say, "seeing is believing". So see for yourself.
FYI - I was only able to download one picture, so I was not able to share my "before" picture. But if anyone wants to see it, I will send it along if you write to me.
This "after" picture was taken when I was around 139 lbs. I do not have a current picture since I reached my goal, but I will soon.
