Not Impossible

Having battled weight issues forever, I had convinced myself that no matter what method I tried (and believe me, I've tried many), I could not lose weight. Then a little over a year ago my Dr. had a serious talk with me and I tried once more and lost 15 lbs. But, a year later I had lost no more. I told myself what we all say, "My metabolism is slow, I have a thyroid problem no one can find, I will never weigh less", then I watched other people my age get up and down from couches and chairs without having to push and shove like I do, and I decided whatever it takes, I am going to get this excess weight off. After joining FitClick, I started thinking of my weight loss journey, one day at a time and set as my goal to eat healthy one day at a time. Joining the weight loss challenge has kept me determined and so far I have lost at least one pound a week. What have I discovered? Weight loss for me is not impossible. It is work and it is difficult, but broken down one day at a time, it certainly is doable. I host an annual Christmas party for my cousins early in December and what keeps me going is to shut my eyes and imagine the reaction I will get from all of them if I keep losing one pound a week from now until then. Weight loss, impossible? No, just challenging!
