Feeling Amazing

Despite my little chest cold, which is starting to clear up, I am feeling amazing. This week alone I am down 4.5 pounds just by eating 3 meals a day rather than only 2 and also watching my portion sizes. I have only worked out 2 times this week, so while I'm sure that those workouts are helping a little, I really am contributing most of my weight loss to the previously mentioned changes.

Don't get me wrong...I am going to continue to work out every other day for the next month to help build up some stamina and just get used to being back in a work out routine. Come February, I will start working out every day for at least 30 minutes a day. I need routine and schedule in my life, so skipping weekends is not an option for me. (Not to mention the fact that 2 extra days of workouts can only help me shed those extra pounds.) I know that exercise is an important part of this journey and I am  ready to put in the hard work to get and see the results that not only I want, but I need for my health.

This weekend is going to be my first real challenge. Thankfully, my husband and I are homebodies so I don't have to worry about going out to eat and having drinks. What is going to be hard is the change in my routine due to my husband being home. I am a stay at home wife. Monday through Friday I have the house to myself and I can do what I want when I want from the time he leaves for work until he gets home from work. That means that I have anywhere from 9 to 12 hours a day to myself to get what I want done. On the weekends he is home and he tries to help me decide what we are having for dinner, when we are eating, and what we are doing. As I said previously he is a huge support for me, but he can also be challenging. He doesn't like to work out. He doesn't like me to tell him what he should and shouldn't eat. If I just make something for dinner he will eat it. If I let him make a decision he will make a bad one. Together we are a horrible threat to our weightloss goals. I am going to have to stand up to him and make smart healthy decisions, which in all honesty may lead to some arguments over the weekend. No matter what happens I am going to stick to my plan. I am not going to give in. He knows that I am doing this for both of us.

Most likely I won't journal tomorrow or Sunday due to my husband being home. I will catch up on Monday along with an updated weight. Which reminds me...I started this week at 317 and now I am at 312.5 pounds. My goal is to lose another pound over the weekend for a total of 5.5 pounds lost in the first week. It would be a great way to start this battle!
