I usually never hit the numbers either and I'm still losing the weight slowly. Anyway, I would really keep an eye on your salt intake. It can reek havoc on your weight even if you are within number range everywhere else. :)

Don't be so hard on yourself. I know what you are feeling but you have to remember that we didn't put on the weight overnight so the next step is taking control and making it come back off. :)

Thank you for your postive support as well as yours & your sons service to our country. I do have a co-worker that I am working with who has a similar goal as I do. I don't think I will have major weightloss at first because I am trying to make small daily changes that will be long lasting, because I know I could do a craxh diet & drop 20 pounds in the next month but then I would most likely put it right back on.

You have taken the first step which is probably the hardest - I know it is easy to procrastinate - I have been planning to begin exercising and eat right for about 6 years now. But after 1 week I feel good about it. I would say that you have a lot going for you - still young and ready to take action. I would suggest that you get a buddy to do this along with you, especially the exercise part. I believe it is all in the small choices we make - do I have an apple to fill me up or a piece of cake. The thing is to be consistent but don't get down on yourself if you falter once in a while. The reason I decided to comment is like you I had a son graduate from the AF (in April) and I know you must be proud of him. I retired from the AF almost 16 years ago and I am glad to have served.
