I've been keeping up with documenting my eating and activity. I've gotten the first of three injections in my knees and am a little bit more mobile at times. I'm babysitting my grandpups this week and they are keeping me busy, busy, busy. At any given time I have four sets of eyes upon me. Getting lots of doggie kisses too. It's hot here in Florida this week so it's nice to get out in the sunshine with them. I'm doing well keeping my calories under 2000 a day. Generally I am running under 1500 calories, with some days here and there where I get up closer to 2000. It's fun - seeing how little I can eat and feel good too. It's encouraging portion control too. I notice that it doesn't really take a lot of food to fill me up. Generally, no more than 2 cups at a time, total volume, depending on the meal. I'm more reluctant to eat grains too because of it. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and salads. I'm trying to take note of how I feel after I eat. I want to put together a diet for myself that focuses on how it makes me feel. I noticed that after eating two oranges that I was light-headed and almost passed out when I stood up. Blood sugar event. I won't do that again. Also, I had a strudel the other night and HATED the way I felt afterward. Stuffed and bloated and had indigestion. It tasted so good going down though! That's the rub, right there. Until next time - Elaine
